A democratic congressional candidate has been arrested after an incident at a Lexington grocery store.
Geoff Young was arrested Tuesday because he says the manager called police on him for distributing a petition to customers at the Good Foods Co-Op while he was eating at the Good Foods Café.
He's charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing third degree.
Young's trying to get enough signatures to change the way the Co-Ops board of directors does business.
Good Foods released a statement saying "we have policies and procedures in place for the safety and comfort of our customers and employees. We have no further comment at this time."
Young says the only time the exchange got physical was when the manager grabbed his clipboard.
"She kept asking me to leave. I kept asking her to leave, and said 'go outside and cool down'. And she called the police," Young said.
