A legislative bill named after a Lexington boy with cerebral palsy whose parents are fighting to keep his playhouse will be debated in the State Capitol again Wednesday.

Unable to move "Cooper's Law" out of committee last week, there's a new vote planned. It surrounds the family's homeowner's association threatening a steep fine for the playhouse the family had built in their backyard at Andover Forest for therapy for their son, 3-year-old Cooper Veloudis. Dubbed "Cooper's Law," the bill would make it okay for small buildings like Cooper's playhouse if a doctor can prove it's necessary for a disabled child's therapy.

Representative Richard Henderson, who wrote "Cooper's Law," told LEX 18 he has the votes this time around. The representative says committee members feel more informed, and an outcry of public support put the bill back on the agenda.

The Andover Forest Homeowner's Association says they are still debating their decision about Cooper's playhouse, which currently remains at the Veloudis' home.
