The Fayette County Coroner and Lexington police were called out to Silver Maple Way around 5:15 p.m. Monday to investigate what the coroner called a death of unnatural causes.
Investigators are remaining tight lipped about the investigation but called in the mobile crime lab around 8 p.m.
The coroner says a man was found inside a home Silver Maple Way but won't comment further on the death.
Detectives spent the evening interviewing neighbors and searching the surrounding yards as they continue to process the scene.
"The forensic unit of the Lexington Police Department is on the scene with the mobile crime lab. Any time we're processing a scene, there's a lot of equipment that's there that helps process everything that's inside, so we'll be gathering evidence and processing that. So, the crime scene makes it a whole lot easier for the police department," Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said.
Ginn says he expects an autopsy to be performed Tuesday in Frankfort.
