Coroner Identifies Victims In Deadly Lexington Fire

The Fayette County coroner has released the identities of three people who were killed in a horrific fire at a Lexington home early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at about 5:30 a.m. at a home on Buckingham Lane, which is located close to Clays Mill Road. Firefighters say someone passing by saw the flames and called 911. They say that person knocked on the door, but no one answered.

Fayette County coroner Gary Ginn said the three victims are Lenville Lindon, 89, Norma Lindon, 78, and their son, Kenneth Lindon, 54. The coroner says all three were disabled and also had oxygen tanks in use in the home.

Investigators said late Wednesday morning that the cause of the fire was improperly discarded smoking material in plastic. They also say the home had no working fire detectors.

LEX 18 spoke with a family neighbor and friend after the fire. "You get to know someone pretty good," said neighbor Wayne Rickert. "I don't care if it's a co-worker or someone on the street, all of a sudden you realize they aren't part of your life anymore. And its tough. I know I'll get over it, hopefully the family will, too."

Crews say they will likely be at the scene for most of the day Wednesday.
