The coroner has released the identity of a man killed in an accident in Harrison County Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at about 9 a.m. on Highway 27. Police say Clarence Hoskins, 62, of Pendleton County was driving a Honda Odyssey when he hit a tractor and a telephone pole before the car flipped over and landed on its roof.

Hoskins, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner said Hoskins died of blunt force trauma injuries. Police had originally said at the scene that because there were no skid marks or any other indication that the Hoskins used his breaks before hitting the tractor that he may have suffered a heart attack before the crash, but the coroner said that was likely not the case and that Hoskins died from the impact of the crash.
