The coroner has released the name of a Pike County Sheriff's deputy who died in a three-vehicle crash Monday night.

Police say the accident happened around 9 p.m. along US-460, just past Marrowbone Creek Road in the Belcher community. Deputy James Thacker, 53, was killed.

"Our condolences go out to all the deputies here in Pike County and to the Sheriff, and Kentucky State Police will do whatever we can to assist the Sheriff's Department and help them through this time," KSP trooper Shaun Little said.

There is no word on any injuries suffered by anyone in the other two vehicles.
