Lexington police have arrested a man accused of smuggling contraband into the Fayette County Detention Center.

According to court documents, Markeith T. Gillis, 29, worked as a corrections officer at the jail until he was terminated on August 9, 2012. Police say Gillis earned $100 smuggling contraband to a prisoner. The court documents did not identify what was smuggled in.
