The NCAA has taken a lot of heat recently for both the Cam Newton case at Auburn and the Ohio State football players.
So in response, the NCAA released a statement on fairness and rules decisions, in which it says the NCAA makes decisions based on each individual case.
While the release never mentions Enes Kanter specifically, you might be able to draw some conclusions about what may happen based on the NCAA's wording.
Here is an excerpt.
"Put simply, had Cam Newton's father or a third party actually received money or benefits for his recruitment, Cam Newton would have been declared ineligible regardless of his lack of knowledge."
With that being said, it looks like UK's new Cam Newton defense that Kanter didn't know about the money might be all for nought.
The NCAA has said it will not make any decision on Kanter's status until after the new year.
