The Fayette County Coroner says one victim of a Thursday evening accident in southwest Lexington has died.

According to the coroner's office, 23-year-old Brian Houck of Nicholasville died just before 9:30 p.m. after he was critically injured in a collision between a car and an SUV at the intersection of Harrodsburg Road and Dogwood Trace.

Police say the accident happened around 6:45 p.m. when the SUV was making a left turn off of Harrodsburg Road into the Dogwood Trace subdivision and crashed into a Mazda traveling inbound on Harrodsburg Road.

Two other people were badly injured in the crash. Officials have not released their names. One was listed in fair condition, the other in serious condition as of Thursday night.

Witnesses say it was amazing anyone made it out alive.

"It's a horrible wreck. I cant imagine how this car got up on this hill like that. It just looks like that car got smashed," Joshua Key said.
