Dakari Johnson, the no. 13 high basketball player according to Rivals.com, has verbally committed to play basketball at Kentucky.
The newest Wildcat made the announcement at the half of the Gonzaga (DC) - Salesian (CA) game on ESPNU.
The 6-10 center from Montverde, Fla. picked the Wildcats over primarily Georgetown and Syracuse.
"[The coaching staff] was just honest people, they told me this wasn't a place to come if I was selfish or I wanted the ball all the time and I didn't want to work hard. But, I want to work hard and I want to get pushed and I want that pressure on me because that makes me a better player," Johnson stated about his decision to attend Kentucky.
That makes five top 20 prospects from the class of 2013 to commit to Kentucky.
Johnson will join Aaron Harrison (no. 4), Andrew Harrison (no. 5), James Young (no. 10) and Marcus Lee (no. 18) as Wildcats next season. Bullitt East's Derek Willis (no. 129) has also committed to Kentucky.
