An extremely disturbing investigation is underway in Daviess County after officials say a dog was dragged behind a truck.

The incident happened Monday morning near a home on Hamilton Ferry Road. A witness told deputies they saw a man dragging the animal behind his truck. The dog was able to wiggle free from its collar and limp to the yard of the witness.

The dog suffered cuts and abrasions and was taken to a shelter.

So far, there have been no arrests in the case.
