Firefighters rescued a dog from a burning home in Paris early Tuesday morning.

Officials say the blaze broke out in a house along Fithian Avenue just after midnight. The owner wasn't home at the time, but firefighters managed to get his dog out of the burning home. Crews were called in from neighboring departments to help battle the fire.

The house sustained heavy damage.

There is no word on the cause of the blaze.
