Officials said Monday that the drowning death of a six-year-old Amish girl in Fleming County has been ruled accidental.

An intense 22-hour search ended just before 9 a.m. Sunday morning, when a dive team recovered the body of 6-year-old Linda Peachey in Fleming County. The girl was found in a pay lake near her home.

Linda went missing from her home Saturday afternoon. Friends of the Peachey family say the discovery comes as both a relief and sadness. The family had been worried that the little girl was abducted after dogs picked up her scent on nearby roads.

Many remember little Linda as bright eyed and beautiful. A six-year-old who was the sunshine of her community.

More than 100 people aided in the overnight search as well as rescuers from 18 different agencies.

Visitation for the little girl will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Mount Carmel Bible Fellowship in Flemingsburg. Her funeral will follow on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
