An elderly man apparently died from exposure after his car broke down and got stuck in mud along a Mercer County road.
Officials say a motorist driving along Mundys Landing Road spotted a person lying along the side of the roadway. EMS took the man to a local hospital where he later died. Deputies say the man was in his 80s and likely died from hypothermia.
Deputies later found the man's car about a mile away. It appears the vehicle got stuck in the mud and he walked away looking for help.
Officials have not released the man's name, but say he lived in Burgin, several miles from the area where he was found.
