An elderly man was hurt when two men broke into his Lexington home early Wednesday morning.
Police say the incident happened just before 1 a.m. at a home along Shandon Drive. One of the suspects hit an elderly man inside the home in the head with a baseball bat. EMS took him to the hospital. Officials have not released the extent of his injuries.
An elderly woman was also inside the home. She was shaken up, but didn't appear to be injured.
Jennifer Collins rushed to the scene as soon as she heard. She says the victims are her grandparents, Callie and Bob White.
"I didn't see nothing," Collins said. "I mean, I don't know what they took. But a bunch of lamps broke and stuff like that."
She appeared shocked by what happened.
"Callie's OK. Bob's not. As far as I've heard, they ripped his ear off."
Police say the robbers didn't take any cash. They are still trying to determine if the suspect took anything at all.
Officers continue to search for the two suspects, but say they have only a vague description.
