An elderly man hurt when two men broke into his Lexington home early Wednesday morning has been released from the hospital.
Police say the incident happened just before 1 a.m. at a home on Shandon Drive. One of the suspects, who police say were looking for prescription medications, hit Bob White inside the home in the head with a baseball bat. White's wife, Callie, was also inside the home at the time. She was shaken up, but didn't appear to be injured.
Jennifer Collins, the White's granddaughter, rushed to the scene as soon as she heard what happened. "I didn't see nothing," Collins said. "I mean, I don't know what they took. But a bunch of lamps broke and stuff like that."
Police say the robbers didn't take any cash, and they are still trying to determine if the suspects took anything at all.
Officers continue to search for the two suspects, but say they have only a vague description.
