An elderly Fleming County man was killed Monday after he somehow fell off of a tractor he was operating and it ran over him.

The incident happened along U.S. 32 near the Fleming County-Nicholas County line. The Fleming County Sheriff said that Ronald McCord, 73, was working on some hay after leaving home at about 10:45 a.m. He told his son that he would be home for lunch, and when he hadn't shown up by 1 p.m., his son went out to look for him.

McCord's son discovered that his father had fallen off the tractor and had been run over. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
