A hospital in Mercer County was put on lock down briefly Thursday morning after a man with a knife threatened a nurse.
The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. Police say an elderly patient at the hospital who they believe was having a World War II flashback walked into the lobby and held a nurse at knifepoint. Police quickly converged on the scene, and the man, identified as Dewitt Sims, 92, was disarmed and arrested.
Police say no one was harmed in the incident, and that the hospital is open. Dewitt was charged with wanton endangerment and is also scheduled to undergo psychological tests.
