OWENSBORO (AP) - Police in western Kentucky say a 79-year-old woman who chased an intruder from her home may have given them their first description of a suspect in 40 similar break-ins.
Police in Owensboro say Doris Ranson was slightly hurt Tuesday afternoon when the man, who had walked into her front door, shoved her onto a bed, causing her to hit her head on a nightstand, and twice sprayed a chemical irritant into her face.
But Ranson still grabbed a knife from under her bed and chased the man back out the front door, the Messenger-Inquirer reported.
She was treated and released at a local hospital.
