Officials say faulty wiring and an extra load from a heater likely shorted out a wire, sparking a small fire in a Lexington home early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the house on Bluegrass Avenue just after midnight after someone spotted flames outside. The fire caused little damage, but crews shut off power to the home for the night.
