An explosion leveled a house in Lexington early Monday morning.
The blast shook a neighborhood near Transylvania University around 1 a.m. and destroyed a vacant home along Campbell Street.
Officials say there was nobody inside the house and nobody suffered any injuries. Debris rained down on neighboring homes, but there was no significant damage to any other houses. Firefighters quickly responded and put out a small fire.
Neighbors say they smelled a natural gas odor shortly before the explosion.
Officials have not confirmed the cause of the blast.
