Nearly a year after his death the family of a Shelby County teen shot and killed by police have filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
According to the Sentinel-News, the suit names multiple parties, including the city of Shelbyville and the police department. In November 2011, 18-year-old Trey Williams was shot when police came to his grandmother's home responding to a report of a burglary. Police say Williams came at them with a pipe.
Earlier this year, a Shelby County grand jury decided not to indict officer Suzanna Marcum in Williams' death.
