A family lost their home Sunday after a fire broke out in the living room.

It happened in Laurel County on Laurel River Road around 2:15.

Firefighters tell LEX 18 the fire was so intense the homeowners didn't even attempt to save anything from the house. The home is a total loss but there were no injuries.

Firefighters were able to salvage a few family heirlooms.

The family of four that lived there will be staying with family.
