A family of seven lost everything in an early morning fire in Laurel County Friday.

The fire broke out at about 6 a.m. at a home on Echo Valley Road in the Lily community. Officials say one of the children in the home smelled smoke, and everyone in the home was able to make it out safely.

The family said that smoke detectors in the home did not go off.

So far, there is no word on the cause of the fire.
