The Fayette County Clerk's Office will no longer be able to provide extended hours on Mondays due to the Annex Garage construction project.
"The construction crew has reached the decks that are literally above our offices. We must restrict access to the building for safety reasons," said Don Blevins, Fayette County Clerk.
The Clerk's office will maintain the following business hours for the remainder of the project:
Motor Vehicle Titling and Registration: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Voter Registration: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Land Records, Recording: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Land Records, Inquiries and Copies: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Construction began in August on the $3.1 million dollar restoration to the garage, built in the mid to late 1960s. The restoration involves needed safety repairs, including waterproofing, lighting updates, and a new entry/exit system.
"I know that our extended hours on Monday are important to many citizens, and we hope to restore those hours as soon as possible," said Blevins. "I appreciate everyone's patience while the city completes an important repair."
