State Police in Ashland are continuing their investigation into a single vehicle fatal collision that claimed the life of a Fayette County resident.

The accident happened at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday near the 170 mile marker on I-64 in Carter County. Angela Acosta, 31, was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier and was traveling eastbound when she lost control of the vehicle and rolled it several times across the median onto the westbound lane.

Acosta was pronounced deceased at the scene. Seatbelts and / or child restraint seats were in use by all parties.

The two juvenile passengers, boys ages 5 and 10, were airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital, West Virginia for multiple injuries. Both juveniles were the children of Acosta.
