EDDYVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police say an Eddyville man who wasn't supposed to have any firearms was found to have 26 of them.
Kentucky State Police, the Department of Probation and Parole, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office and the Eddyville Police Department searched the home of 50-year-old Robert Murphy on Monday. Police said they found 22 rifles and shotguns and four pistols, including one reported stolen in Indiana.
Police said Murphy is a felon and is barred from having guns. He was charged with 26 counts of illegally having guns, having a stolen weapon and drug possession.
Authorities also found several packets of methamphetamine and arrested two other men.
Michael Melton was charged with drug possession and Taylor Haberlock was charged with drug possession and having a concealed weapon.
