HICKMAN, Ky. (AP) - A ferry crossing the Mississippi River from western Kentucky to Missouri has been reopened after nearly 18 hours out of service.
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry resumed operation at about 8 a.m. CDT Sunday. The ferry had stopped service around 3 p.m. CDT Saturday after officials say it apparently hit a piece of stray line under water that had become entangled in the ferry's rudder.
A diver had to be called in to cut away the line.
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Ky., with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Mo.
