Louisville teams dominated the top half of the final AP boys' high school basketball poll of the season, grabbing four of the top six spots.
Trinity finished the regular season at No. 1, garnering all but one first place vote. One voter gave Madison Central the nod for the top spot, and the Indians held on to second in the rankings. Moore leapt from sixth to third With a 73-72 win over Pleasure Ridge Park in the last game of the season. PRP dropped from fourth to sixth. Scott County held steady at No. four and Ballard fell two spots to fifth after a loss to Jeffersonville on Feb. 13. George Rogers Clark edged back into the top-10 and Henry Clay dropped out.
There was also some shuffling in the grils' poll. DuPont Manual remained solidly on top, with Marion County holding on to second, but Boone County climbed to third as Mercy dropped down to No. 5. Mercy dropped a late season contest against Marion County. Boone County climbed despite also losing to Marion County back on Feb 11, but that was the only Lady Rebel loss to in-state competition all season.
