Fire heavily damaged a home in Estill County late Wednesday night.
Firefighters say they arrived at the house along Brown Ridge Road around 9 p.m. to find flames shooting through the roof and out of the windows. Crews got the fire under control quickly, but not before the home sustained extensive damage.
There was nobody inside when the blaze broke out, and there were no reported injuries. The homeowner called the home a complete loss. He says the home has been in his family for more than 80 years.
Firefighters say they have not determined the cause of the fire.
"At this time we don't see anything suspicious, but we will be talking with the investigators in the morning," Estill County Fire Department chief Derrick Muncie said.
