Fire destroyed a mobile home in Garrard County early Thursday morning.
The owner of the home just off Richmond Road in Paint Lick said he returned from his girlfriend's to find everything he owned destroyed. Firefighters say the home was fully involved when they arrived, and there was little they could do but keep the flames from spreading.
"The mobile home hit the ground pretty fast. Once it's fully involved with fire, we were worried about occupants trapped inside and any exposures around, because usually when it's a mobile home, it's on the ground upon our arrival," fire Lt. James Martin said.
There were no injuries.
Firefighters say it appears the fire started in the middle of the trailer, but they don't yet know what caused it.
The owner says the toughest thing to lose was a prized stamp collection he'd been building since he was 12.
