A fire destroyed a home near downtown Versailles Friday afternoon that was the home to six family members from three generations.
The blaze broke out at about 3 p.m. at the home, located on Douglas Avenue. Firefighters at the scene say five of the six people who lived in the home were there when the fire broke out, but that all five were outside waiting for a grandchild to get home from school.
Firefighters closed the road from Broadway to Richard Allen Road because of the possibility of downed power lines caused by the fire.
No one was hurt in the fire.
