An intense fire destroyed a vacant house in Rockcastle County Monday night.

Firefighters say the blaze broke out just after 11:30 p.m. in a house along Terry Street. The fire was hot enough to melt siding on a home next door.

There were no reported injuries.

Investigators continue working to determine what cause the fire.
