A fire caused heavy damage inside a Scott County home early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out in a house along Chambers Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Firefighters say flames were shooting out of the front of the house when they arrived. The resident was not home at the time and there were no reported injuries, but the blaze caused significant damage inside the home.

Firefighters say a window air conditioning unit may have sparked the fire.
