Lexington firefighters were on the scene Friday afternoon after a fire broke out at a mobile home.
The fire broke out at about 1 p.m. at the home, located in the Eastland Mobile Home Park on East New Circle Road. Firefighters say the unidentified man who lived in the trailer, which was totally destroyed, was outside of the home when the fire began and went back inside to retrieve medications.
At that point, a bystander and a Lexington firefighter went in to the home to help the man out. He was not injured.
So far, there is no word on what started the fire. Officials also said that the homeowner does not have insurance.
