Torrential rain early Thursday morning caused flooding in several eastern Kentucky counties.
As much as two inches of rain fell in a two hour span over Elliott, Fleming and Rowan Counties. Dispatchers in Rowan County say high water covers many roads, with US-60 impassable in several areas. Residents report the worst flooding is in the Hayes Crossing, Haldeman and Gates areas.
There are also reports of residents of a trailer park on Penny Lane self-evacuating due to the rising water.
Authorities caution motorists not to drive through flooded areas and to remember water is often higher than it appears.
