The Florida Gators took an early lead on the first day of the Big Blue Slam blood drive.
The reptiles from Gainesville jumped in front 431-310.
The Kentucky Blood Center kicked off the drive at Rupp Arena Monday.
"Our staff was thrilled to be working at Rupp Arena today, and the donors were all smiles as they left with their photo of their basketball shot," said Martha Osborne, KBC's Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment.
The 5th annual Big Blue Slam runs through Friday.
Donors will receive a Big Blue Slam T-shirt and a chance to win an entertainment package - 60" Smart TV with Wi-Fi, 3D Blue-ray entertainment center and PlayStation 3.
Kentucky won last year and leads the rivalry 3 to 1.
The four KBC Donor Centers will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during Slam,
