Former Bengals Player Arrested After Traffic Stop In Laurel County

A former Cincinnati Bengals player was arrested in Laurel County Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop.

State police conducted the traffic stop on I-75 northbound near the 43 mile marker in Laurel County at about 3 p.m. Upon speaking to the operator for improper lane usage, officers also discovered that the suspect had given officers a false name and did not have a valid license. Consent to search of the vehicle was obtained and officer found several types of drugs along with material reveling the identity of Theodore Roosevelt Nix III, 46, of Toledo Ohio.

Nix was arrested without incident and charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operating on Suspended License, Giving Officer False Name, Prescription Controlled Substance not in proper container, Possession of Marijuana and Fugitive from another state.

Nix, who played for the Bengals in the 1990s, is being held in the Laurel Co Detention Center.
