The New Orleans Hornets announced Thursday they have signed second-round pick Darius Miller to a contract.
Miller, a 6-8 forward, joins former Wildcat superstar Anthony Davis, who was taken No. 1 overall by the Hornets. Miller was taken 46th overall. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The SEC Sixth Man of the Year played in more games at UK (152) than any Kentucky player ever. Miller averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists helping UK win the 2012 NCAA Championship.
The former Mason Co. star played in the 2012 Las Vegas Summer League for New Orleans. The 6-foot-8 inch forward averaged 4.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in five games.
Miller will wear number 2.
Getting with the right team can be very big for any player trying to make it in the NBA. First round draft choices don't get cut as a rookie. Second rounders don't get either the big bucks guaranteed. But, the odds are Miller will make the Hornets, who aren't deep at small forward and they have only 13 players under contract.
