A former Scott County basketball star has died following a crash in Anderson County earlier this week.

The accident happened Tuesday night on the Bluegrass Parkway in Anderson County. William Tyler Hicks, 27, was airlifted to UK Hospital after the crash and died Friday.

Investigators have not released the cause of death, just saying it is pending toxicology results.

Hicks played for Scott County High School and is the son of Scott County coach Billy Hicks.
