Former UK point guard Michael Porter pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to six counts of third-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

Porter was arrested May 15 after a sting operation by Lexington police turned up evidence that he had a sexual relationship with a girl he met at church functions, where he was a group leader, according to police.

According to police and court documents, multiple illegal sex acts took place from November 2009 to April 2010, when the girl was 14 and 15 years old.

The former Wildcat played three seasons at UK, averaging 2.7 points a game. He left UK with one year of eligibility remaining, saying he wanted to spend more time with his wife and family.

Porter's next court appearance is scheduled for October 26.
