Craig Yeast is hoping to become the head coach at Bryan Station High in Lexington.
Bryan Station has their search narrowed down to three candidates. Interviews will continue this Saturday.
Yeast, who played in the NFL, CFL and for the Lexington Horseman, was the assistant head coach at Washington County High School this past season, working for former UK football player Mark Perry.
"I helped change the mentality of the kids," said Yeast on what he believes happened this year at Washington County, where they were 9-2.
The former UK star wide receiver believes he can get the players at Bryan Station to do the one thing you have to do if you are going to turn a program around, get the players to trust him.
Yeast will pitch three things to Bryan Station, "family, tradition, and pride."
The other thing the former speedy receiver believes needs to be done at Bryan Station is to look at the culture around the program. "I need to change the culture. It will take a while to change the culture," he said.
There have been times when Bryan Station has had some powerful teams. There has been many times where those that follow high school football in Kentucky believe that there is a lot of talent at Bryan Station that often isn't properly used.
Frank Park, who was the defensive coordinator last season, and is currently the interim head coach, is also one of the finalists.
