Former University Of Louisville Dean Sentenced In Fraud Case

LOUISVILLE (AP) - A former education dean at the University of Louisville has been sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and ordered to repay $2.2 million for pilfering two universities out of the money and tax evasion.

U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson on Monday also ordered Robert David Felner of Prospect pay $510,000 in restitution to the University of Louisville, $1.6 million to the University of Rhode Island and $88,000 to an addiction center in Illinois.

Felner was director of the School of Education at The University of Rhode Island from 1996 to 2003. He left there to take the position at UofL.
