Franklin County's storm warning sirens are currently offline.

Officials say two sirens sounded last week for no apparent reason, and they were forced to take the system offline while engineers try to figure out the problem.

With no warning sirens, area residents should use other means to keep weather-aware.

"We always push in emergency management to use any available warning. Mostly for indoors at night, it would be one of the NOA weather radios. That's your best protection," Ray Kinney, with the Office of Emergency Management, said.
