A friend of a Laurel County man brutally stabbed inside his apartment says the victim has returned home from the hospital.
London Police said Doug Harris, 31, was stabbed several times Saturday night at Dogwood Hills Apartments, just off Highway 1006 in London.
"It was just something out of a horror movie," said Joshuah Smith, a friend of Harris. "I'd say he was just trying to kill him."
Tony Howard, 22, the brother of Harris' girlfriend was arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing.
"He just snapped, I guess," said Smith. "[Harris] said Tony came down the stairs and just stabbed him seven times before he even knew it."
Harris was taken to UK Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday night. His friends say he has since been released from the hospital and is staying with family while he recovers.
"He has stab wounds in the back of his head, the side of his neck, some in his back, and some on his face," said Smith. "He looks really bad. He's got staples on the back of his head. There's wounds that are still open. It's, it's crazy."
A search of Howard's criminal history shows he's been in jail in the past for charges of drug possession and public intoxication.
"I'd really like to see the boy get some help," said Smith, speaking about Howard.
Howard is in the Laurel County jail on a $50,000 bond.
