Funeral arrangements were set Wednesday for a Rowan County fire captain who was killed in a horrific accident while logging Tuesday.
The accident happened just after noon off of Kentucky 1722, also know as Lower Licking Road. Officials say Josh Ferguson, 30, was logging in the area when he cut one tree that fell into another. He ended up being pinned between that tree and a bulldozer blade.
Officials say Ferguson, who was also the captain of the Elliotville Fire Department, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Visitation for Ferguson has been set at 3 p.m. Thursday at Northcutt & Son Funeral Home in Morehead. His funeral will held at the same location on Frida at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Elliottville Volunteer Fire Deparment at PO Box 161, Elliottville, Kentucky 40317
Ferguson had been scheduled to be married within the next several weeks.
