Highlands quarterback Patrick Towles has been named Kentucky's Mr. Football 2011 by The Associated Press after leading the Bluebirds to their fourth state title in a row and 21st all-time.

Towles threw for 3,820 yards, 42 touchdowns and just one interception as Highlands finished 15-0, completing his high school career that started as the Bluebirds' backup freshman team quarterback.

The verbal commitment to the University of Kentucky also joins Highlands receiver Austin Sheehan, defensive lineman Devin Bruns and defensive back Drake Bruns on the Kentucky All-State football team.

Throughout his high school career, Towles passed for 7,429 yards and 73 touchdowns. He has also won the Paul Hornung Award and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Kentucky.
