It didn't take long for Garrard County High School athletics director Kalem Grasham to find a new head baseball coach.

Just a few weeks after Doug Simpson stepped down, Grasham tapped Danville High School assistant coach C.J. Lynn to take the Golden Lions' helm.

The 25-year-old graduated from Danville High and played college baseball at Alice Lloyd College before serving as a graduate assistant there.

Lynn will teach social studies at Garrard County Middle School.

Lynn makes the eighth coaching hire at Garrard County in the past year. This fall, the Golden Lion cross country team, volleyball team, boys' and girls' golf team and the boys' soccer team will all take the field under new leadership. The track and field team will also have a new coach next spring.
