It appears the Christmas Grinch made the rounds to Lexington gas stations late Wednesday and into Thursday morning.
Gasoline prices jumped as much as 30 cents per gallon at many stations in Lexington, just in time for the holiday travel weekend. On Wednesday morning, many area filling stations featured prices under $3, but Thursday morning, signs advertised prices as high as $3.39. According to Gasbuddy.com, one Richmond station is charging $3.49.
This compares to a national average of $3.23 per gallon.
