Police are investigating after a robbery Friday afternoon at a Scott County business.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. at a check cashing business near the Walmart in Georgetown. Police said the suspect walked along the north side of the business, entered the front door, approached the counter and demanded "give me the money". The manager on duty complied and opened the cash drawer. The suspect then took all the paper money, stuffed it in his pocket, turned back toward her and demanded the rest of the money.
At that point the manager went to her desk and gave him a bag that contained the rest of the money. The suspect then ordered her to the back of the store where he told her to go into the bathroom. She complied and the suspect shut the door, told her not to move, then left the store. She stated that when she heard the front door chime indicating that it had been opened and closed she exited the bathroom, hit the panic button, and locked the front door. She was unable to give a direction of travel for the suspect.
